The Royal name of Hatschepsut Ma-at-Ka-rethe meaning of Spirit of Harmony, her name also translates into foremost of Noble Women or first among noble women. Hatschepsut is renowned for being one of the most successful Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt. As well as being a Woman she was also considered to be one of the first female historical figures whose escapades are known to Modern Historians. Hatschepsut was the fifth Pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty throughout the New Kingdom. Historians are debateable about the dates of her reign, but she is believed to have ruled Egypt for 22 years which was from 1470-1458 BC. When she married her half Brother Thutmose II, she became Queen of Egypt and she was 12 years of age. Hatschepsut being a Pharaoh extended Egyptian trade and constructed favourable building projects. The Temple of Deir El-Bahri being the most famous. Ruling Egypt for more than twenty years in the 15th Century beginning in 1478BC she was the longest female Pharaoh to reign, where beside her husband she served as Queen. Hatschepsut was very successeful throughout her reign in restoring Trade Relations that had been damaged by Foreign occupation of Egypt by the Hykses People. The achievement in the economic matters is which led to her being regarded as such a triumphant ruler. She also built a Sea voyage to Punt Land, located on the North East Coast of Africa, where they used to trade with the native residents. The most acclaimed of these trading associations was with the Land of Punt, an achievement immortalized in the reliefs which adorn her Morturary Temple which lies on the West Bank of the River Nile Luxor which was known as Ancient Thebes. As the outcome of Hatschepsut’s endeavours Egypt enjoyed a period of economic prosperity throughout the Rule. Hatschepsut’s era was very peaceful so she ordered a Great Temple to be constructed at Deir-el-Bahri Luxor. The amount of Building projects undertaken and the advancement of architectural style throughout her rule shows in evidence of the economic prosperity that Egypt enjpyed throughout her reign, as well as her desire to perpeturate her influence as the ruler of Egypt. Having constructed hundreds of buildings throughout the Nile Valley there as a vast anount of Statues that were made in her likeness, The most famous construction commited to Hatschepsut is her Morturay Temple which is known as Deir-Al-Bahri or in other words Hatschepsut Temple. The distinctive Collanaded design of the Temple is still praised by Art Historians as unrivalled until the advancement of classic Greece. The Mummy of Hatschepsut Hatschepsut’s Mummy was identified in 2007 by archeiologists as being in Tomb 60KV in the Valley of the Kings, a scan of a single tooth in a box with the name of Hatshepsut on it matched a tooth socket in the jaw of the Mummy. Approx. 50 years of age when she died Queen Hatsche[sut was suffering from Diabetes and she had black and red polish on her nails. History to this day still maintains her success as an Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh.
