Tombs of the Nobles The Tombs of the Nobles starts with a rising sandy corridor which shows the way to the entrance which is followed directly by the Tomb Hall, this sits on Pillars that are cut into the Rock, where the walls are adorned with Scenes depicting the Daily Life of the Ancient Egyptians. The scenes give an insight of the agriculture , plowing, hunting of Birds and sacrifices amid the Swamps of the Delta and the Deserts, in the middle of the Hall there is a well which carries on to a Burial Room below the cemetery. Located between the Ramesseum and Hatschepsut Temple on the West Bank of the River Nile, the Tombs are carved in sandstone and the importance of the Tombs are due to the fact that they reflect the architectural style of the period from the Pharaonic era to the Roman era, also the inscriptions on the walls of the Tombs show the character played by the Rulers of Egypt in various periods in order to preserve Egypt from its enemies. One of the most famous Tombs discovered in the Tombs of the Nobles is that of Minna who was believed to have been the Minister of Agriculture during the era of Thutmose IV, because most of the inscriptions on the walls of the Tomb reveal about agriculture and various agricultural operations. The scenes on the walls of the cemetery show the presence of an enemy of Manna who disfigured his face so he would not enjoy the Afterlife. Another Tomb worth mentioning is that of Nakht , Nakht was the first responsible for making Wine and Grapes during the reign of King Thutmose IV, of the Eighteenth Dynasty, Many drawings and scenes on the walls of the Tomb illustrate the procedure of cutting Grapes and turning them into Wine in Ancient Egypt. One of the favourite Ministers of King Tutmoses III, from 1500 to 1450BC is Rekhmi-Ra whose Tomb lies in the Tombs of the Nobles. Drawings and inscriptions on the walls of the Tombs show the Minister Rakhmi-Ra as he performs his work as Minister of Justice. There are many other Tombs in the Nobles but what makes a distinct difference is the Tombs use of Modern Art compared to that of the Valley of the Kings.
